About Patch Play Multi Key :
WHAT ARE MULTI KEYS
“Multi Keys” are presets for the Pigments VST Plugin that use different samples for different keys, so every note sounds rich and natural. Instead of stretching one sound across the whole keyboard, we record multiple variations of the same patch and map them to specific keys. This gives you higher quality and more realistic results when playing.
Mapping
The mapping of the multi keys affects how you use them and opens up new creative opportunities you can use.
RANDOM
The sound variations change at random making each key press unpredictable, increasing the chance for “happy accidents”
ROUND ROBIN
The sound variations cycle in a set order giving you a predictable chain of sounds to learn and utilise.
KEY MAP
The sound changes depending on what octave range you are playing, allowing you to control multiple different sounds in just the one midi pattern.
VELOCITY MAP
The sound changes depending on how hard you press a key, giving you easy access to different variations in sound dynamic.
SOUND VARIATIONS
We used a variety of sound design techniques when recording the sounds for our multi keys.
WITH THE SYNTHS
Because we have the real synths in front of us we can easily tweak the filters, noise, oscillators, mod wheel, aftertouch and more to change the sounds subtly or drastically.
EFFECT PEDALS
Utilising our extensive pedal chain we processed many of the sounds in our presets to give them varying amounts of extreme granular effects, delays, reverb, pitching and more.
IN THE PLUGIN
We used a variety of sound design techniques inside of Pigments including LFO automations, effects, keyboard control and functions. This blurs the lines between software and hardware ensuring they both work together in harmony.
